Costa Rica News & Events – As I headed down the highway and passed Playa Hermosa on the way to Jaco I had the full moon guiding my way. I took the turn onto the road on which Doce Lunas was hosting the opening night of Jungle Jam 2014 in Jaco.
Upon getting out of my car and heading towards the entrance I could hear the music starting and everyone seemed excited and ready for the performance that was about to take place on stage. With the crowd in board shorts and flip flops it had the feeling of the Austin City Limits music festival except tropical style.
The one-of-a-kind music festival in Jaco, Costa Rica is hosted at the incredible DoceLunas Resort & Hotel. It includes concerts at multiple locations in the area, including beach front venues, late night clubs and local theaters, all designed to create an up-close and personal concert experience just like ACL.
We all know that the Palmares festival starts this weekend in Costa Rica but do you really want to fight the crowds and traffic to experience a lesser quality selection of music and overall venue. I know I would rather be around girls wearing bikinis dancing the night away at the beach than cowgirls and a bunch of really, really drunk festival goers that are all going to be driving home at the same time.
I am sure there are other music festivals where you can take a break from the bands to go surfing but I have never been to one.
Slightly Stoopid, the California group led by Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, will headline Jungle Jam IV 2014.
Featuring four days of continuous music, this year’s party in the jungle also includes festival newcomers G. Love & Friends, Dumpstaphunk, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe,The Expendables, Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers, Kung Fu and dopapod, as well as Jungle Jam veterans Max Creek, Oteil Burbridge, bassist for the Allman Brothers Band, Zach Deputy and Ryan Montbleau Band.
Mot of you reading this will only be able to hit the festival from Friday until Sunday, and the cost to you for that three day all inclusive pass is only $99. It is $75 for Saturday and Sunday and only $50 if you are planning on hitting it only on Sunday. Don’t forget this includes yoga at DoceLunas each day Friday, Saturday and Sunday at DoceLunas.
If you are needing a trip out of San Jose for the weekend or you are tired of being stuck in traffic on the way to Palmares head to Jaco for a hack of a weekend of yoga, incredible music, and the beach. Does it get much better than that?
Check out the Jungle Jam 2014 Website for the schedule and to reserve your passes.
