Costa Rica News – Just what we need more fast food in Costa Rica with the obesity rate growing in the country. You have to give this company props, with the popularity of Micky D’s and other heart attack foods in Costa Rica this is definitely a market for this type of food.
I guess I cannot really say anything with the 3 hot dogs I had for dinner tonight.
Johnny Rockets is symbolic comfort food we all crave on a bad day. The burgers are to die for and the shakes are even better……even though I do not really want to admit it. I saw the logo at Lincoln Plaza recently, but it wasn’t opened yet.
On Friday, they finally opened. The first location in Costa Rica is in Moravia, at Lincoln Plaza Mall. International Gourmet Developments owns the restaurant franchise. They informed us that the new location took an investment of $600,000.
This initial store opening will employ 35 people. They will then open four more branches. These will be in Escazu, Alajuela, Heredia, and San Pedro. The first restaurant has 185 square meters and is open Sunday through Thursdays from 11-10 and Fridays and Saturdays from 11-11.
The firm also obtained franchise rights in Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.
They already have 300 restaurants in 30 states and 16 countries. They serve 17 million burgers a year.
