Costa Rica News – (Surf Report April 25th and April 26th) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have our new Jaco Beach Model of the Week. This weekend has waves on both coasts of Costa Rica, but the Pacific side is looking for a great swell coming in that expects 3 foot overhead waves filling in Friday and peaking Saturday. FRIDAY: Very long period forerunners of new SSW swell will steadily build through the day. Look for the surf to build into the overhead range for many breaks through the afternoon/evening hours. Standout deepwater spots that can really focus the swell will see well overhead to double overhead+ surf by sundown.
WEATHER/WIND: For most areas, look for light/variable wind for the early mornings. Then a moderate SW seabreeze develops over the morning hours and into each afternoon. Possible evening glassoff for some areas before dark. NOTE – Passing showers or thunderstorms can temporarily affect/change local wind conditions.
Solid SSW swell peaks on Saturday and continues Sunday.
Friday 04/25 – 1.5-2.4m – head high to 3 ft overhead – Solid new SSW swell fills in through the day, bigger late with larger sets pushing 10-12’+ faces at standouts by sundown
Saturday 04/26– 2.4-3.1m
3 ft overhead to double – verhead occ. 4.3m
Solid SSW swell fills in further and peaks; select standouts see larger sets

Saturday 04/26 – 1.2-1.5m – Shoulder to head – Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light northeast winds with a slight chop, increasing rapidly later.
