Costa Rica News – (Surf Report April 18th and April 19th) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have our new Jaco Beach Model of the Week. This Semana Santa weekend has waves on both coasts of Costa Rica, but the Pacific side is looking for a nice overhead swell to be filling in Friday and Saturday. North Costa Rica & Central Costa Rica & South Costa Rica Forecast for the Pacific
FRIDAY: Old SSW swell fades as new SSW swell starts to join in. Surf is mainly waist-head high, with better sets showing late.
WEATHER/WIND: For most areas, look for either calm to light/variable, to locally light+ offshore wind for the early mornings. Then a moderate WSW-SW’erly seabreeze gradually develops over the mid to late morning hours and into each afternoon. Possible evening glassoff for some areas before dark. Skies will be partly cloudy/sunny for most locations as well. NOTE – Passing showers or thunderstorms can temporarily affect/change local wind conditions.
Friday 04/18 – 0.9-1.5m – waist to head high occ. 1.8m – Old SSW energy continues to ease, while a new SSW swell builds in; 6’+ sets showing before dark at standout spots
Saturday 04/19– 1.5-2.1m – head high to 2 ft overhead – More SSW swell fills in

Saturday 04/19 – 1.2-1.5m – Shoulder to head – Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light east-northeast winds with a slight chop, Increasing later.
