The INS initiated the collection of the 2019 marchamo this Saturday. This represents a 23 day delay due to having to wait for Sugese to authorize the Obligatory Automobile Insurance premiums.
There are 2,314 establishments set up to make this payment for the right of circulation, according to Elian Villegas, executive president of the insurer. The amount to be paid can be verified and paid on the website for INS. This payment is compulsory for the owners of 2.5 million vehicles.
The approved increase is a 12.5% weighted average for 2019. The ownership tax, SOA, special rates, and municipal and traffic infractions make up the total payment due. The treasury estimates a collection of ¢175,000 million for this tax.
Private vehicles pay ¢22,192 and motorcycles and mopeds pay ¢86,609. This difference is meant to cover some of the medical expenses incurred by motorcycle accidents. The marchamo must be paid by December 31st to avoid additional fees.
