Life can deliver shocking tragedies at any moment: a traffic accident, a harmful fall, or even a senseless loss of life. Among the highest risks are extreme sports and activities that demand significant physical exertion.
The virtual community recently mourned the tragic demise of influential figure Remi Lucidi, a French citizen renowned for climbing the world’s tallest skyscrapers without any protective gear, which minimised safety for daring ventures. According to the South China Morning Post, the globally recognized Instagrammer lost his life last week in Hong Kong, China, at the age of 30.
Scaling Heights for Thrilling Photography
Lucidi’s forte was taking risky photographs from building summits without any safety measures, offering awe-inspiring aerial views and panoramas. Regrettably, during his last venture, as he was photographing and posting an image from the top of one of the Tregunter Towers, he fell from a height of 200 meters.
A Fatal Misstep
As per the police report, the content creator had informed security personnel that he was heading to the 40th floor to visit a friend. Utilizing a brief distraction of the guards, Lucidi managed to slip to the skyscraper’s highest point, where he captured the last photograph he shared before his fatal fall. Desperate to get back into the building, the French citizen pleaded for help to open the door but tragically lost his balance in the process. The authorities later checked with the resident of the 40th-floor apartment to verify the friendship claim, who affirmed that they didn’t know the photographer, confirming that Lucidi had deceived security to gain access to the building.
Following the incident, authorities discovered that the deceased often engaged in such activities after inspecting the content on his camera hours after his death.
