Costa Rica Sports – The last news we expected during the World Cup was about internal conflicts among the Costa Rican team. Luckily, it was just rumors and none of it is true. Still, the words took their effect.
All the cell phones of players, federation members, and even some fans and journalists in Russia received a text stating that something was wrong on the team. The text was anonymous. It stated that the team is divided, the relationship with Óscar Ramírez worn and also that Navas wants no part of the national team.
Marco Ureña and Johan Venegas gave interviews to the press. They stated that the team is in good spirits and there is no problem. Anytime a guy messes up in practice the others give him a hard time. That happens multiple times a week but it’s just part of remaining competitive. There are no issues between teammates. They talked about how Keylor is on another level but always tries to be part of the group. They are thankful for how he defends the team.
The interviews went on for nine minutes. After the questions, the Federation called a press conference. Rodolfo Villalobos spoke of how only a coward hides behind a social media network to provoke such a situation before a vital match.
