Costa Rica Travel News – Andaz is an upscale hotel chain under the management of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. They have announced that they will open their first Latin American hotel. The Andaz Papagayo will open on December 15th on the Papagayo Peninsula in the northwest part of the country.
The hotel will be on a 2,223-acre property that includes a pair of peninsulas on the Bay of Culebra. There will be 153 guest rooms, an open-air lobby, an 11,000 square foot spa with 9 rooms, and a marina complete with all the boating services you could need.
One of the most interesting dining options will be a casual restaurant built around a tree that will have irregular mezzanine levels to create the shape of the nearby oyster mushrooms.
There will also be a fine-dining seafood option and a tapas-style restaurant.
The property’s director of sales and marketing, Vincent De Croock, explained that “The idea is to give our guests a sense of place as much as possible.”
This will include balconies with bay views from each room ($400 per night) and decorations made from local woven textiles and artifacts.
