The Vatican has an appointed Miracle Commission that sifts through thousands of claims of miracles. The commissions are normally composed of theologians as well as scientific experts.
Almost all about 99.9 percent of these are medical miracles. They need to be spontaneous, instantaneous and a complete healing. Doctors have to look at the healing and state that they do not have a natural explanation of what happened.
