A historic property located in the heart of downtown San Jose, the Gran Hotel Costa Rica has just been reopened as part of Hilton’s Curio Collection.
The 79-room hotel dates back to 1930 and was declared a historical architectural monument in 2005. Now it has been reimagined for international visitors, fusing history with cutting-edge modern offerings.
Highlights of the San Jose property include indoor gardens, a rooftop piano bar overlooking the city skyline and guestrooms featuring organic and natural bathroom amenities as well as complimentary Wi-Fi.
Guestrooms also include 49-inch televisions, ergonomic workspaces, and a walk-in shower. The property’s suites meanwhile come with 24-hour butler services and access to the hotel’s Executive Lounge, which serves complimentary nightly hors-d’oeuvres and drinks.
“Surging in tourist arrivals from the previous year, Costa Rica continues to be a top choice destination for travelers, and Curio Collection by Hilton is pleased to provide these travelers with an authentic new hotel experience with the opening of Gran Hotel Costa Rica,” Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton, said in a statement. “We recognize the demand for unique accommodations in key markets across the region, and our first property in the country allows us to provide this to the growing number of travelers seeking elevated, unexpected experiences while visiting the capital city.”
The hotel’s dining offering, Cultura 5, will serve international flavors and Costa Rican cuisine while also providing panoramic views of San José. There’s also an onsite, 24-hour business center, gym, and 890-square-feet of event space.
Located on Avenida Central, Juan Santamaría International Airport is less than 15 minutes away. And one last notable detail about the just reopened Costa Rica property, it overlooks the National Theatre and is surrounded by the city’s top museums.
