Hanna Gabriels sports a red and black jersey with “H. Gabriels” and number 10 on it. She’s a proud supporter of La Liga Deportiva Alajuelense and hopes her support helps them advance to the grand final.
Being an athlete all her life, she has a unique perspective about sports. She stated, “I believe that in group sports the unified vision towards a goal is essential. They have to be able and want to work together for that common goal, because everyone depends on everyone.”
She has always been interested in soccer because her father, uncles, cousins and brothers have been part of the history of soccer in Costa Rica. She recalls growing up watching her brother go out to train every day and become exceptional. She watched him sport the number 10 shirt in many games and saw the whole stadium celebrate and suffer along with the team.
Her mom is also a huge fan. For each game, she decorates the house with red and black curtains and sheets.
Hanna’s message to the team is “Don’t faint. One more game is missing and until the final whistle is heard, nothing is lost. Now, put your resources to work, your friendship, your focus, correct, improve, but mainly enjoy the game…Long live the League!”
