Costa Rica News – The Guatemalan airline TAG is in the process of applying for permits to operate in Costa Rica.
Civil Aviation has confirmed that the company is currently in phase 2, which takes up to six months but can take more or less time depending on the company’s fulfillment of requirements and availability of their aircraft or crews.
The airline first contacted authorities in Costa Rica on March 13. Then on April 27, phase 2 was started.
TAG operates 5 Embraer 110P1’s which seat 19 people. It also has an Embraer ERJ 145 for 50 passengers. It currently operates over 27 daily flights in Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Belize. It will soon fly to Nicaragua too.
Details are being kept confidential, so we don’t know if the company seeks to offer domestic or international flights. Nature Air has been indefinitely suspended, as of April 2, so there is speculation that TAG may take its place.
