Costa Rica Travel – A couple of friends took their love of exploring new beaches and turned it into a website that helps others explore 200 Costa Rican beaches that they have seen first hand.
There are about 600 beaches in the country.
The friends dedicated weekends and free days for a year to traveling to 200 of them, including ones with difficult access.
They drove, walked and climbed to see new sites. They got to know the communities each represents.
Everything learned over the year made its way into the GOPlaya website, www.goplaya.cr.
It will be launched this Wednesday. It’s main feature is a search engine that will help national and foreign tourists, in English and Spanish, find new beaches to visit.
Users can even search for specific characteristics such as white sand and soft waves near a certain town. They can search for activities like snorkeling, surfing or nightlife as well as specific biodiversity in the area, such as whales or turtles.
