There are a total of 20 airlines that usually fly to Costa Rica. As the country is not allowing foreigners to enter and many airlines are canceling flights due to the new coronavirus, many wonder if they can cancel or change their tickets.
The airlines that have sold tickets to Costa Rica that will now have to be rescheduled include Aeromexico, Air France, American Airlines, Avianca, Condo, Copa, Delta, Edelweiss, Iberia, Interjet, Jetblue, KLM, Latam, Lufthansa, Spirit, Southwest, United, Volaris, and Wingo.
Most of these airlines are overwhelmed with calls because of the pandemic. They are giving priority to those who had planned to fly in the next 72 hours. Keep in mind that you may be able to change your flight on the airline’s website or via the travel agency or search engine that you booked through.
Be sure to check with your airline to see if you can cancel and get a refund or if you must rebook. Can it be used for a different passenger? What are the deadlines you must rebook and fly by? Also check into how price differences and customer points will work and if change fees can be waived for the extenuating circumstances.
