Costa Rica News & Events – Although we will have two bullfight arenas to choose from this holiday season, Zapote is still Zapote. The new managers provided some news about what we can expect there this year.
Two of the country’s bravest bulls, “Araveño” and “Malacahuite,” will be presented. Although most of the top bulls we be at the Pedegral event center, the bullfights will still go on in Zapote.
Businessman Claudio Poma announced that there will be a number of changes regarding Zapote this year, namely with the prices. Kids up to age 12 will pay just ¢5,000, according to the executive director of the ring. Adults can pay that price and kids just ¢3,000 if they go on December 31st for the family night. Normal prices for adults will run from ¢9,000 to ¢13,000.
Tickets can be purchased online this year, from SpecialTicket.net and picked up from one of 40 locations nationwide. There will be a total of 22 events to attend with your friends and family. You can also watch them on channel 6 or 7.
Additional improvements include bettering the lighting and sound for more audience enjoyment and improving both the security and the food sales. No one will bother you with sales in the stands this year.
The Zapote Fiestas go from December 25th until January 2nd. The Zapote fairgrounds in San Jose transform from tranquil farmers’ market to a free-for-all party, offering amusement park rides, fair and street food, bullfighting and live music.
