Costa Rica Travel – When it gets cold in Canada, and it does get very cold, they are going to have the option to hop on a flight to Costa Rica a little more often.
The airline Air Canada announced that during the Canadian winter it will increase flights to San Jose, Costa Rica from 5 to 11 weekly. This was reported Friday the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT).
The company will use an A319 aircraft with capacity for 136 passengers, so it is estimated that during Winter in Canada, December 2016 to March 2017 the number of seats available will increase by 670 per week.
“It is a priority to further strengthen air links, with the aim of providing the facilities so that more Canadian tourists to visit Costa Rica, as it represents the second largest source country of tourists entering by air from around the world,” Costa Rican Tourism Minister Mauricio Ventura stated.
Official data indicates that Costa Rica last year received around 160,000 visitors from entering from Canada by air.
These are not the weekend travelers coming from the great white north. The Canadians average stay in Costa Rica is 15.3 nights and a their daily expenditure in about $ 96.2.
This combined with the fact that there are more direct flights from Europe to Costa Rica including Air France means that tourism in Costa Rica is going to be thriving this year in the land of Pura Vida.
