Fiorella Chaves has made a name for herself by just being herself. The 22-year-old became famous for broadcasting herself playing video games on Twitch. She was later signed as a presenter for a music channel, VM Latino.
The Costa Rican has 20,500 followers on Twitch and 46,000 on Instagram. She attributes her success to trying to make people see her as she is and not pretending to be anyone else to fit in. “It makes me happy that people accept me as I am,” she said, noting that she just speaks naturally to the camera, sometimes without any makeup and even in pajamas.
She was 8 years old when she got her first PlayStation2. Then she went crazy with XBOX and XBOX One. She quickly decided she wanted to dedicate herself to the gamer world. She started broadcasting with voice only, talking about her day and other anecdotes while gaming. She later started showing her face and bought a microphone and headphones.
Her broadcasts are fun and talent evident, so she was signed by the Primus Gaming company as an ambassador. She goes to present at gaming events and tournaments. She believes gaming will be a priority in the media agenda in Costa Rica in a few years and that Costa Ricans will participate in video game world championships and events.
