Costa Rica News -The Vuelta a Costa Rica caught our attention last year when a taxi driver swerved into the peloton and rival teams quit the race after a mass brawl, and this year it’s in the headlines for all the wrong reasons once again, with a fight between two local riders.
The incident took place on stage four of the race from Ciudad Quesada to Guápiles, with Gabriel Marin blaming his fellow Costa Rican Dylan Castillo for the touch of wheels that resulted in the high-speed crash that you can see in the video below.

Instead of having a quiet word with Castillo at the finish, Marin decided to make his feelings known by attempting to kick his compatriot off his bike as he attempted to ride off in pursuit of the bunch.
After landing a couple of karate kicks, Marin was restrained by a motorbike rider, while Castillo was kept from acting in retaliation by one of Marin’s team mechanics.
Unsurprisingly the UCI commissaire took a dim view of the incident, disqualifying both riders on the spot.
