Costa Rica News – Evo Morales, the Bolivian leader, was supposed to meet our new president, Carlos Alvarado, but he decided to go back to his country early. The rest of the details are up to speculation, as there are various versions circulating. His car arrived at the National Theater but he did not get out. He may have been scared off by the huge crowd that had gathered in an unorganized way with very little police presence. At the time his car arrived, someone from the crowd shouted, “Do not be afraid, you’re not in Venezuela,” and another, “Evo, Bolivia wants you out, dictator.” These comments coupled with the crowd and lack of security are possible logical reasons he headed straight to the airport. The Minister of Security rejects the stories of threats against the South American leader. Bolivian chancellor, Fernando Huanacuni, argued the president had to leave to attend “emerging issues” in his own country.
