2023’s Ultimate Rejuvenation Destination
Situated just an hour from downtown San José, Finca Don Pachi in Patarrá de Desamparados is the ideal sanctuary for those seeking a refreshing break as we approach the year-end.
Experience the Best of Mother Nature
Promising pure air and a wholesome environment, this natural haven lets you reconnect with nature. Meander through serene trails, partake in traditional games, and indulge in picnics in the heart of nature’s playground.
The Story Behind Finca Don Pachi
Don Héctor Araya, fondly known as “Pachi”, has owned this 10-hectare estate for 15 years. Elevated in the heart of the region, the property offers mesmerizing views of San José and its surrounding towns. The pandemic saw the Araya family find solace and escape from the relentless grasp of COVID-19 on this very farm. It was this experience that led them to share this sanctuary with the public, opening its doors to visitors since late 2021.
An All-Inclusive Rural Retreat
Managed by Milena Araya, one of Don Héctor’s daughters, Finca Don Pachi is a recreational space that promises pure enjoyment. “It’s a space where families can picnic, enjoy thrilling slides, take in fresh air through our trails, and engage in traditional games. We even have facilities for soccer, jenga, and hammocks. It’s the perfect day out,” she shares.
Access and Facilities
The farm is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It also hosts private events during weekdays. Admission is priced at 3,500 colones for adults and ₡3,000 for children and seniors. Those wishing for a more curated experience can rent dedicated picnic spots. For those craving hot meals, the on-site restaurant offers breakfast and sandwiches.
