Costa Rica News – According to the general director of taxation, an electronic invoice or receipt, replacing paper ones, will become mandatory in March.
The electronic invoices will be used when reporting taxes.
The first obligors will be a group of large contributors. They have already been trained. These large companies contribute the most in taxes. They are responsible for 70% of the total internal tax revenue.
When the sale of a good or service is finished a receipt will stay in company records and one will be delivered to the customer electronically as well.
This will include the item name, sale price and all information needed in case of a return.
This will help enforce the Law to Improve the Fight against Tax Fraud. This wave of the future will also serve to save a lot of trees in forest friendly Costa Rica.
It will also make transactions easier for customers.
