Costa Rica Travel & Tourism – Discovery Costa Rica is in the stage of discussion between the partners founding it, Sun Latin America and Discovery Communications, Inc.
Although it was announced that construction would begin in the first months of 2018, the partners are stuck in legal issues.
Sun Latin America would be responsible for developing the work while Discovery Communications would name the park and act as a concessionaire.
They forecast offering an adventure park and two hotels during the first stage and then later adding a beach hotel and a mountain hotel near the volcanoes of the area.
This ambitious project aims to provide socio-economic development in the province of Guanacaste, which began developing about 10 years ago and has advanced significantly.
This project will generate 2,000 jobs in construction and 4,000 when in full operation.
President Solis published a video about the theme park project on his Facebook and then, on April 18th, the companies jointly announced the project at a press conference in the National Theater.
