Costa Rica News – As Thursday night’s publish will be in essence our weekend edition we will give a run down of events happening in Costa Rica in different areas that we think our readers might enjoy attending. This is by no means all the weekend events but ones that appeal to our curiosity or excitement bug.
The biggest event happening this weekend is Envision Festival 2013 in Uvita, Costa Rica. This is for all of those people that want to bring our their inner hippy and enjoy some great music.

WHERE: Uvita, Puntarenas, Costa Rica
The small town of Uvita in Puntarenas will play host to the 3rd annual Envision Music, Art and Sacred Movement Festival from February 27th – March 3rd 2013 on the Southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica.
The annual Envision Festival embraces the “vibe” of Costa Rica, featuring live music, performances, art, workshops and yoga. Envision Festival is a mix of conscious people from around the world who gather to share an elevated experience of culture, spirit and community in stunning raw nature!
The Envision Festival is a collaboration of local and international talent, producing an event inspired by and inspiring the positive collective consciousness of all who are involved for the betterment of ourselves and of the planet.

For Those who want something a little more outdoorsy, you can check out some turtles.
March is the end of the time you will be able to see the nesting of the sea turtles on many of the Costa Rica beaches. Below is a list of places to go for certain types of turtles.
Nesting Period Olive Ridley Sea Turtle
The Olive Ridley Turtle, also known as the Pacific Ridley is one of the smallest sea turtle, even though it can weigh as much as 45 kg (100 lbs) and have a length of up to 75 cm (30 in). It is named for the olive-green color of its heart-shaped shell.
– Location: Pacific coast
– Hatching: 50 to 60 days
– Nesting Period: Close to a moon season
Nesting Period Leatherback turtles
Leatherback sea turtles are the largest living marine reptiles and live almost their entire lives at sea. The only times that they are on land is when the female turtles lay eggs, and when hatchlings emerge from the nest and make their way to ocean.
– Location: National Park Las Baulas, Playa Grande.
– Hatching: 50 to 70 days
– Nesting Period: December to March
Nesting Period Pacific Green Sea Turtle
Green turtles are the largest of all the hard-shelled sea turtles. They are one of the few species so ancient that they watched the dinosaurs evolve and become extinct.
– Location: Playa Naranjo.
– Hatching:50 to 55 days
– Nesting Period: October to March
