Costa Rica Theater – The University Theater presents “Las tres hermanas.” It’s at the Teatro de la Aduana and will be available until the beginning of next month. It’s a co-production by the University Theater of the University of Costa Rica and the National Theater Company.
The work, directed by Gladys Alzate, interprets the work from author Anton Chéjov but sets it in Limón instead of Russia.
The story tells of a middle class family that moves following the father’s job as a naval admiral.
It’s set in the ‘40s. The father dies and the sisters are pressured by a society full of prejudices and stigmas.
It delves into multiple realities and pays tribute to our national identity.
