Costa Rica News – Have you ever looked for a summer camp for your daughter and just cannot figure out where to send her. This might be the place here in Costa Rica.
Sea Turtle Camp and their experienced instructors will be back in Costa Rica this year. The instructors are marine biology specialists who will introduce the group of all female campers to 6 of the world’s 7 sea turtle species. Other activities available to campers include rafting, hiking, and zip lining.
The program accepts girls from ages 13-17 who would enjoy an adventure abroad. This year’s trip will take place from July 22 to August 4. This 2 week camp costs $3195 and includes lodging, meals, 24 hour supervision, airport shuttle, equipment, daily transportation, activity fees, t-shirt, and a photo of the graduating group along with a certificate of 20 hours of community service.
On the trip campers will be learning how to do sea turtle patrol, going on sunrise and nocturnal nest walks, and collecting data about nesting females. An additional benefit is that they can take Spanish lessons from native speakers.
Costa Rica is a safe international travel spot. They have abolished the military and put more money into education. Its natural resources make it an eco-travel destination. This camp adventure will allow the students to see many habitats of the country.
It starts with rafting down the Pacuare, includes a long stay in the Caribbean, and finishes inland in Monteverde Cloud Forest. These teens will have the unique opportunity to experience these habitats up close which will foster an appreciation for the environment and world around us that will last a lifetime!
