Costa Rica News – Costa Rica’s new National Center of Congresses and Conventions is expecting at least 50 conferences in the first 12 months of operation.
7,500 tourists are expected for such events.
In only one congress or convention, 10% of that figure can be achieved so it is quite possible that the figure is a conservative under estimate. In addition to congresses and conventions, there may be meetings and incentive trips held there.
Costa Rica hopes to attract $1.3 billion in congresses and conventions in the next five years, a previously untapped market.
This will help other markets and professions such as florists, taxi drivers and sound artists.
The country can now submit its candidacy to attract a congress in any specialty. Some examples include medical fields, technological specialties and sports.
It will become a strong competitor because it is a country of peace with advanced technology and education.
