Costa Rica News – Nature Air is operating once again, this time with only its own aircraft and fewer flights. The aircraft will leave only from Pavas, not Juan Santamaría. All routes will be offered but with a 40% reduction in frequency.
The company was under a precautionary measure imposed by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation following a fatal accident on December 31.
The 12 destinations will not be limited but reduced, for example, the flights to Nosara will now be four days a week instead of seven and those to Tortuguero three instead of seven.
It’s a temporary plan as the company will have two Twin Otter aircraft in March.
Permission to operate again was granted only based on the promise to incorporate a second rented plane in the next few days. Additionally, the airline will have six aircraft at its disposal through the wet lease system for renting charter planes and crews for scheduled trips.
Money back for cancelled flights will be offered in full but can take up to three weeks to process.
