Costa Rica News – A new mural of butterflies is beautifying the Hostal Casa del Parque.
The work of art was created by Marcelo Jimenez as a symbol of the transformation and cultural activation that is being lived in San Jose.
His idea was selected among those received in the call made by “Your city, your canvas,” an initiative of culture, urban art and the revival of spaces in the city. It inspires a more awake and active city.
It can be seen from those passing the northeast side of the National Park. The new facade features butterflies that seem to fly out of the building. It was inaugurated during the 15th International Festival of Arts.
The artist is thrilled at this huge opportunity. It was the first time he had an exhibition in urban art at this level.
He called it “an incredible opportunity.”
The first edition of the competition decorated a side of the Magaly Cinema and the last one the Hotel Presidente, with an immense blue cat.
