Elevating Costa Rica’s Agricultural Bounty on the Global Stage
Between October 19 and 21, an extraordinary showcase unfolded in California, United States, at the illustrious Global Produce and Floral Show international trade fair. Twelve distinguished Costa Rican companies, in a commendable partnership with PROCOMER (the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promoter), magnificently exhibited the rich, agricultural treasures of Costa Rica. The event was a confluence of over 40 countries, attracting the presence of over 19,000 visitors, each bringing a diverse array of products and innovations to this vibrant global marketplace.
A Crucial Platform for Agricultural and Floral Splendors
The fair, orchestrated meticulously by the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), has been lauded as a paramount and influential event, primarily within the United States market – a crucial commercial nexus for Costa Rican agricultural exports. The meticulously curated ‘Essential Costa Rica’ stand was a vivid display of the country’s agricultural prowess. It flaunted a wide spectrum of fruits and vegetables indigenous to the country’s fertile lands, such as pineapple, rambutan, banana, chayote, cassava, eddoes, among other delightful offerings. Making a remarkable debut this year, was the introduction and promotion of an exquisite variety of flowers and foliage.
Harnessing Opportunities for Growth and Diversification
This international showcase served as a fertile ground for the delegation of Costa Rican exporters to engage in significant business interactions. They seized valuable opportunities to convene with potential buyers, immerse themselves in the exploration of emergent market trends, and participate in enriching seminars focused on a myriad of agricultural topics.
“The Global Produce and Floral Show was an exceptional platform, catalyzing the enhancement and recognition of the Costa Rican agricultural sector on the international frontier,” proclaimed Mario Sáenz, the esteemed Manager of Export Development at PROCOMER.
Nurturing Economic Flourishment through Strategic Engagement

This impressive portfolio encompassed key products such as pineapple, bananas, Oro coffee, cassava, yucca, and a delightful array of ornamental plants.
