Costa Rica Sports News – In her last 50 meters, Mary Laura Meza accomplished a great feat, beating her personal record.
She brought her very best to the aquatic center and it paid off. She couldn’t believe it.
Her time of 28.09 not only meant she beat her own record but also that she set a new national one. She remembers that before the event she felt secure and ready to fight her hardest.
From far away she couldn’t read her name.
When she saw the 28.09 she realized she’s been swimming for four years to try to beat her old 28.43. She also increased by three positions, finishing in fifth place this time.
Mary Laura now seems more sure of herself, more confident. She has regained the hunger to win.
She thanks her new coach, Dirk Lange, an Olympic champion, for believing in her.
