Natalia Rodríguez, who we know well as a Teletica presenter, and her husband were in the stands for Costa Rica’s first two games in the World Cup. Even though the team lost the first one, the couple continued to cheer them on enthusiastically during the match they won against Japan and they were caught on camera.
Natalia didn’t know it until friends and family started sending her photos and videos that had started circulating, showing off her smile and the flag painted on her face. She was proud of the Costa Rican flag behind her and the headdress she wore made of the national flower.
She is glad to show the world how happy and “pura vida” Costa Ricans are. “Ticos are Pura Vida,” she said, “with our smiles and our way of being, and if all of that can be radiated through the screens it is an honor for anyone.” She’s been told that she represents Costa Rican women well.
While in Qatar, she made a promotional video dressed in her typical national dress made by her aunt. She also promoted 10 brands, creating content for social networks. She said she enjoyed it to the fullest but with her feet on the ground.
She and her husband were only allowed to stay in Qatar for ten days since they only had tickets for the first two games. They’ve moved on to Abu Dhabi and will later go to France.
