Costa Rica Entertainment – The film “Jamón” is by the Costa Rican director, Neto Villalobos. It has been advertised tons because of becoming a beneficiary of the Tribeca Film Institute Latin America project.
This fund provides to promising films in development, production or post-production.
The aid grants $10,000 as well as including consulting to continue on with the film after that.
This director is the first from the country to win it. His project is peculiar because there is no script. With two years into the filming there is still no end date in sight because he is working “with life itself.”
This year 225 applications were submitted from Mexico, Central America and South America.
It was then narrowed down to the ten selected. $700,000 has been invested in the region since the fund started in 2010.
