Costa Rica Entertainment – This years Mercedes-Benz fashion Week Panama edition brings exposure to some of Costa Rica’s most talented designers. Maria Lourdes Castro and Jennifer Lang are two of eight designers that will be exhibiting their work through the cluster Estilo Costa Rica sponsored by Procomer with an emphasis on international exposure.
Jennifer Lang’s latest collection, Costa Rica in Bloom, is inspired by the country’s natural beauty expressed with large colorful flower designs on solid patterns. Unlike some of the participants, Lang has had the opportunity to work internationally and recognizes the opportunities that come with an international audience. She seeks to contribute with helping Costa Rica position itself in the fashion industry.
In addition to Lang, Frank Fernandez (NINFO Swimwear), Erika Avila Bouzid and Valeria Maroto González (Makalo Swimwear), Maria Lourdes Castro (Guayaberi), Monserrat Dibango and Vanessa Webb, Jason Guzman (Bearded Man), and Concepcion Miranda (CM brand) will all be showcasing their designs. Procomer will have a space of four booths to promote this emerging creative designer industry.
For many of the participants this will be the first time they expose their product abroad, such is the case of Maria Lourdes Castro who will debut the collection, Aqualapa. This collection was designed exclusively for the MBFW in Panama.
From luxury designs to swimwear, you can expect to see a little bit of everything from the cluster of Estilo Costa Rica designers on the catwalk. All eight designers have unique styles yet share a cultural influence that can be seen in their work. A lot of color and patterns are expected from this group as they represent Costa Rica at an international level.
