Costa Rica News – Many women from the isthmus took part in a hackathon that gave life to 35 technological projects.
They came from all countries of the isthmus except Panama as well as the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
The 35 teams were each responsible for developing a proposal and then programing it and developing it in just 32 hours.
It could focus on three sub-themes: urban mobility, public space and waste management.
One of the winning teams devised a campaign that will allow 800,000 schoolchildren to build robots that will manage waste in their own schools. The group wants to start the program now.
A team member explained that children are agents of the future so the team thought they should have opportunities. The project consists of courses during which, in five days, kids learn basic robotics and build them as well as raise awareness about environmental care.
