Costa Rica News – As Thursday night’s publish will be in essence our weekend edition we will give a run down of a few events happening in Costa Rica in different areas that we think our readers might enjoy attending. This is by no means all the weekend events but ones that appeal to our curiosity or excitement bug.
As for me I will be watching the lacrosse national championship tournament we are to the quarter finals, because it is my favorite time of year seeing these great teams battle it out. Go Syracuse!
But for the rest of you this is a great weekend to go get some culture, SUP yoga and some great music in Costa Rica.
Friday May 17th, 2013 Costa Rica Events
On Friday it might be nice to either enjoy some music or stand up comedy.
Reyes de la Comedia / Comedy Kings – If anyone is in the mood for some laughs in the San Jose area on Friday night join the Comedy Kings…Victoria “The Mariposa”, Kevin Iyar, Billy Porras, Andres Cordero, and Fernando Fercho for some stand up comedy in Barrio Amon.

Sweet Insanity – I know that there are some Tool fans out there and ready to rock on Friday night. Sweet Insanity will be playing at the Latino Rock Cafe. They are planning on starting late and playing long so bring your redbull and have a great time.

Saturday May 18th, 2013 Costa Rica Events
National SUP Tournament (18 May 2013 – 19 May 2013) – Bungalow Ballena and Uvita Surf Camp in coordination with the Surf Federation of Costa Rica brings a few days of recreational and tournament SUP to the beaches in Costa Ballena.
Paddle board competitions will take place on Saturday with 3 different recreational races from 1.5km to 6km long. You can sit back and watch the competition or get in one of the competitive races on the side. Be sure to sign up for one of the free clinics on Sunday sponsored by courtesy of ROXY and have some fun for yourself learning this fun water sport.

Rebel Musik Festival (18th May 2013) – What else do we need to say besides Steel Pulse? Steel Pulse has become one of the most known and accomplished reggae bands in the world achieving this by mixing super clean bass lines with tried and true lyrics that will keep you singing. Enjoy Steel Pulse hits like, “Rally Round the Flag” “Roller Skates” “Blues Dance Raid” “Chant a Psalm” “Steppin Out” and many more.
The Rebel Music Fest has added one of Costa Rica’s top reggae bands, Un Rojo to the Rebel Musik Fest lineup. Un Rojo is widely known in Costa Rica and regularly pull large crowds to their concerts. Raging Fire, Jah 9 and Jesse Royal are also great reggae artist that will be performing.
