Costa Rica News – As Thursday night’s publish will be in essence our weekend edition we will give a run down of a few events happening in Costa Rica in different areas that we think our readers might enjoy attending. This is by no means all the weekend events but ones that appeal to our curiosity or excitement bug.
Costa Rica vs USA, World Cup Soccer Qualifying Match – 8 pm Friday – With March Madness going on in the sports world it has overshadowed a little bit a huge World Cup qualifying game this weekend……..USA vs Costa Rica, that is being played on Friday at 8 pm Costa Rica time. If you are an expat and looking to watch this game, try to do so in the comfort of your own home or a gringo frequented establishment. One of the things I have noticed is that Costa Ricans hate the US Soccer Team and they are very passionate about La Sele (Costa Rica’s Soccer Team), no matter how bad they are. I only hope the USA wins this must win game because the arrogance can be felt for days if they loose in the conversations of each Costa Rica you will hear. Th cold weather should be an advantage of the US team as about 6 inches of snow is expected in the Colorado area. So grab a beer or coke and enjoy the game, but if you are at a Costa Rican bar wear neutral colors and do not cheer to loud for the USA.
