Costa Rica News – As Thursday night’s publish will be in essence our weekend edition we will give a run down of a few events happening in Costa Rica in different areas that we think our readers might enjoy attending. This is by no means all the weekend events but ones that appeal to our curiosity or excitement bug.
Well we made it through yet another Costa Rican Holiday, Juan Santamaria Day. Many people are taking of Thursday and Friday and heading to the beach, but our activities or this weekend reside in San Jose. Perhaps it is time to put down the bottle for a couple of days and actually absorb some knowledge and culture.
Silvio Rodríguez in Concert – Silvio Rodríguez is now 66 years old. His music arose from the Cuban Revolution. He is considered as one of the greatest songwriters of the Nueva Trova movement.
After 23 years since his last appearance in Costa Rica, Ariel Rivas Entertainment and Evenpro have confirmed that the long awaited return of Silvio Rodriguez to Costa Rica will take place on April 12th – 9 pm at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa in San Jose, Costa Rica.
This concert will be emblematic of his latest album, “Second Date”. Silvio will be accompanied by a flutist and clarinetist Niurka González, Trovarroco Trio and drummer Oliver Valdés.
Silvio Rodriguez is undoubtedly a living legend of Latin American music.

Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The exhibition remains open on weekends from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. The general public can enjoy free shows at the Costa Rican Center of Science and Culture.
