Costa Rica News – As it is with any event that is in high demand for tickets, the USA vs Costa Rica World Cup qualifying match has already been sold out. Most Ticos are stilled pissed off about the snow game in the USA so expect a hostile atmosphere at the match.
The Costa Rican Football Federation confirmed as of 2:30 pm the tickets for the USA vs Costa Rica World Cup qualifying match were already sold out. A total of 28,000 tickets were put on sale.
“The spokesman of Specialticket officially informed us that there are no tickets available,” said Manuel Múñoz, press officer of the Fedefútbol.
The tickets started selling from 10am on www.specialticket.net and 36 authorized service points Servimás, Linafa offices in Sabana Norte, against ICE, The Barber and the Hotel Herradura.
However, complaints were immediately being posted by fans through social networks. As indicated by the majority of people in several outlets were unable to buy tickets, because the server is down for a few hours.
Really they were annoyed by an inconvenience in Costa Rica and bitched about it? Every time I do that I am told to go home……lol
The World Cup qualifying match will be Friday, September 6th at the National Stadium.
If you are looking for tickets they are now in the hands of the re-sellers that are going to jack up the prices of the tickets. Expect to get gringo prices if you are from the USA and are trying to buy them….that and they do not want many USA fans at the game.
This is a game I would love to go see but honestly think I would rather watch it in the comfort of my own home where I can cheer as loud as I want for the boys from the USA and not worry about getting in a fight.
The good news is it is at the national stadium instead of Saprissa Stadium so the team from the US has a chance, especially how they have been playing lately. The bad news is if Costa Rica looses they will have the excuse they did not get to play at Saprissa Stadium.
It will be a hard fought game and a revenge game for the Costa Ricans after the snow in Denver.

People in CR love to think that Team USA literally craps their pants at the thought of playing at dumpy Saprissa Stadium. I kinda feel that is BS, have been trying to debunk and prove otherwise with little success
Only Alexi Lalas replied to a tweet inquiry of mine saying that was not the case. That he himself enjoyed playing at exotic venues such as Honduras where they even came out with machine guns, his words.
I’ ve read that the dismal results obtained by Team USA when playing at Saprissa Stadium, aka La Cueva, the Cave, were due to those awful pitch conditions, both artificial turf and previously when it was a grass field. The players also voiced complaints that refs were intimidated by the unruly, vociferous, object-throwing crowd and thus made many calls favoring the Tico squad.
