Costa Rica Travel – International Expeditions, a pioneer in upscale experiential adventure, has announced a new Costa Rica to Panama Cruise aboard the yacht Panorama featuring stops in seven wildlife hotspots along the Pacific coast. Departures for the 10-day adventure are scheduled for December 21, 2018, and February 15 and December 20, 2019. Solo travelers can take advantage of cabins with no single supplement fees on every departure.
“As a nut when it comes to the tropical rainforest, I loved that we spent so much time in the forest hiking, and the swimming and snorkeling was a great way to mix in beach time,” said Anna Voeks, who traveled on International Expeditions’ Costa Rica to Panama pilot program in February 2018. “The extent of wildlife that we saw was thrilling and the guides were beyond superlatives.”
Alongside a field staff which includes two naturalists, travelers explore famed national parks, including Soberania, home to over 530 species of birds and 105 species of mammals, as well as the remote Darien, one of Central America’s most ecologically diverse areas. Guests also slip beneath the waves to swim and snorkel in protected waters in the Pearl Islands and Restingue Island, exploring coral reefs which are home to four species of sea turtles, rays and moray eels. Travelers also sample the regions’ ancient and modern history during excursions to an Ember village, Fort San Lorenzo and newly expanded Panama Canal.
When not enjoying naturalist-guided hikes, snorkeling and excursions, guests travel aboard the Panorama, a three-masted motor sailer. The yacht’s 24 outside cabins feature air-conditioning, TV and marble-finished en suite facilities. When guests are not off the ship daily for excursions, onboard activities center around the abundant outdoor spaces, including the sun deck and an aft deck leading to the bar. Along the way, guests are welcomed to the bridge to learn about navigation from the captain and crew.
Pricing for the Costa Rica to Panama expedition cruise starts at $5,799, and includes pre- and post-cruise accommodations; all excursions; snorkeling equipment; all onboard meals and group meals ashore; all entrance fees; arrival and departure transfers; and some tips.
