Costa Rica News – Perhaps Costa Rica will not trade shark fins for these stadiums.
Costa Rica is about to invest over $38 million in two new sports complexes. President Luis Guillermo Solis made the announcement about the new aquatic complex and the Sports Pavilion.
The aquatics complex is to be located in La Sabana. It will have seven pools including one Olympic sized one. There will be swimming lessons offered as well as the chance to do synchronized swimming, play water polo, dive, practice for triathlons and do water therapies.
There will be biomechanics equipment and a gym for an aerobic workout.
The Sports Pavilion will be in Parque de la Paz. It will have seven buildings with sports like karate, judo, taekwondo, soccer, handball, volleyball and basketball. It will have a sports shop, weight room, cardio and biomechanical equipment, a training center, a restaurant and even a hostel to accommodate athletes.
Both complexes will be done by the end of 2018. They are being funded by the Costa Rican Institute of Sport and Recreation (Icoder).
