Costa Rica News – A 60-year-old man, last name Fallas, was jailed for organizing prostitution and pimping out ladies.
The Municipal and OIJ officials raided his place on Thursday, apprehending him as the main suspect in the crime of pimping within a message room he himself administered.
They detained him at 2 p.m. from his business, the New Fantasy, which is located behind the headquarters of the National Insurance Institute in downtown San Jose. He did not have any prior record.
Officials began investigating him in 2014, after the Judicial Police received complaints that prostitution was practiced inside the building. Apparently, half of the money earned went to Fallas. Involved in the investigation were agents from the OIJ, Municipal Police and Crimes against Physical Integrity and Trafficking.
At the time of the arrest, there were 15 women working, including Costa Ricans and Nicaraguans, as well as several clients. Evidence was seized.
It appears that prices ranged from ¢12,000 to ¢28,000 depending on the length of time and whether the client was a national or foreigner.
