Costa Rica News – This is a combination of “green” Costa Rica and its well qualified government employees. Two Costa Rican Police officers decided to act like immature idiots which you will find examples of throughout the government of Costa Rica.
A police officer of Boca del Sarapiqui with the last name Suarez must deal with a complaint of violating the Wildlife Act, after trying to decapitate a turtle.
The crime was caught on video, which circulated on social media including facebook.
The images were recorded by a neighbor of the police officer.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Celso Gamboa says the officer is identified and that the case was presented before the Public Ministry.
According to the press office of the Ministry of Security, the complaint to the prosecutor, which was filed today, also includes another officer, named Vargas. A civilian also participated in the childish act.
The two officers are accused of dereliction of duty, abuse of authority and the alleged violation of the Wildlife Act.
In addition to the criminal case, on Monday the Ministry of Public Security will open an administrative case the police involved, said director Juan José Andrade forces.
Although this case is being presented to the courts and there is plenty of evidence of the act most likely these officers will get what most officers get for taking bribes, which is between 30 and 90 days paid suspension. No one ever gets fired.
