Costa Rica Picture of the Day – Each day the Costa Rican Times will be including a picture from around Costa Rica to see the natural beauty and amazing things that we get to see each day in the land of the Pura Vida.
Costa Rica is home to over 850 species of native and migratory birds & is undeniably a great place to go bird watching.
The White-throated Magpie Jay is a common sight on the entire Pacific side of Costa Rica. Their bird calls are extremely varied, with some harsh notes which is in extreme contrast to their extravagant, smooth look and topped off with it’s tufted feather crest. These jays are very intelligent, bold and talkative birds. It is not uncommon for these bird to be seen begging for food from on lookers.
