Have you ever come across the Costa Rican version of the raccoon? While trekking through the rain forests of CR you are likely to come across a Coatimundi
Coatimundis, known locally in Costa Rica as pizotes, are a member of the raccoon family.
Coati fur is typically reddish-brown to dark brown in color. The coatimundi heads are long & slender. They have a pointed snout which is good for rooting in the ground for insects.
