Last month I was lucky enough to get some time off of work and go on a bus trip to the Rincon De La Vieja National Park. On our way, we were getting hungry and were told by our Tico friend and guide that we had to stop and eat at a small restaurant in the town of Bijagua.
This restaurant is locally known simply because of the cool fact that you get to choose your own Tilapia before they cook it up for you. We were escorted to the back room, where the cook had a net ready to catch the fish you wanted. The restaurant is situated on a beautiful piece of land with flowers and ponds, and we even got to see our first real life Toucan right across the street! I definitely recommend this restaurant for one of the freshest and most enjoyable meals in Costa Rica.
