Costa Rica Picture of the Day – Each day the Costa Rican Times will be including a picture from around Costa Rica to see the natural beauty and amazing things that we get to see each day in the land of the Pura Vida.
“Personally, boa constrictors are some of the most beautiful snakes. The markings they have are always so interesting, their eyes have a unique marble-look appearance to them, and as soon as they move, you can just sense how powerful they are.
They are found across North, Central and South America, but I was quite content to see this one in a glass tank in the Herpetarium in Monteverde.
Don’t get me wrong; they’re stunning, but most people might not be so keen to chance across one on a hike! As often occurs, there is a notable size difference between the males and females, with the female often growing to much larger lengths and weighing more.”
