Costa Rica Picture of the Day – Each day the Costa Rican Times will be including a picture from around Costa Rica to see the natural beauty and amazing things that we get to see each day in the land of the Pura Vida.
One of the reasons that people come to Costa Rica each year are the beautiful butterflies that call the country home.
Probably the most well known butterfly in Costa Rica is the Blue Morpho Butterfly.
The blue morpho butterfly’s wings are bright blue, edged with black and is one of the largest butterflies in the world.
Blue morphos commonly inhabit in the tropical rain forests of Latin America from Mexico to Colombia.
You can see them both in the wild in Costa Rica as well as on one of the many butterfly farms in the land of Pura Vida.
