Costa Rica Picture of the Day – Each day the Costa Rican Times will be including a picture from around Costa Rica to see the natural beauty and amazing things that we get to see each day in the land of the Pura Vida.
There are so many beautiful birds to see when visiting Costa Rica.
When on the shore of Costa Rica it is common to see a Great Blue Heron wading through the shallow water to try to find its lunch.
The primary food for Great Blue Heron is small fish, though the large bird has been known to be opportunistic and feed on a wide range of shrimp, crabs, aquatic insects if they are available.
It is the largest North American Heron and is an incredible sight to see either scavenging for food or flying through the sky.
