Costa Rica News – In order to promote tourism throughout Central America including Costa Rica for the second straight year the “Discover Central America” campaign will be in full force. The campaign will promote tourism in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
This will be in essence season two of the program and companies have ponied up an investment of over $ 200,000. This includes airfares and vacation packages with discounts of up to 40%. It is to promote the Central American destinations as well offer advertising campaigns.
For vacation packages which include tickets, lodging, tours, ground transportation and other options will be available for sale from April 18th until May 13th.
Sales of these packages will be implemented across travel agencies.
The strategy has a set rate for travel to and from any destination in the countries included in the campaign.
For this program, Discover Central America has signed an alliance with TACA airlines. They will provide about 22,000 seats for this program.
Individuals who purchase a special travel package or an American fare ticket, you can use it from the 22nd of April to the 31st of May.
The campaign also involved the Ministries of Tourism of the region, the Secretariat of Central American Integration (SICA) and the Federation of Tourism Chambers of Central America (FEDECATUR).
The campaign was first launched in April 2012 . At that time Costa Rica gave about $ 70,000 to support the regional plan.
