A Costa Rican had invested ¢600,000 close to $1,200 to go to the NFL game scheduled for Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The game has been moved to L.A. due to the poor state of the field in Mexico.
The Costa Rican had planned the trip since December of last year. He set aside the money and now much of it is lost. He will get back the entrance to the game but that’s just ¢88,000.
He will lose the service charge for the purchase, ¢185,000 for the plane ticket to Mexico City, and ¢78,000 for the lodging. Thousands of fans are disappointed by the decision.
Ticketmaster will refund, over the next few days, the ticket price but not service charge.
The NFL knew the condition of the field was going bad in June. It is unfortunate that the administration of the stadium has not taken such an important event seriously. They could have made repairs and kept the game.
The administration points to an excessive rainy season and many events.
